Chuck Gomes, Chairman of the GNSO Council, Vice President of Policy and Compliance for VeriSign Information Services

Mr. Gomes has been a part of the VeriSign/Network Solutions' management team since 1984 and has been involved in Internet domain name policy since 1996.  Since October 1999, Mr. Gomes has served as Vice President of Policy and Compliance for VeriSign Naming, the VeriSign business unit that contains the Registry for all second-level domain names in the .com and .net top-level domains.  He is VeriSign’s primary point of contact with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and as such is actively involved in the development and implementation of policies involving all aspects of domain name registration services including internationalized domain names.

Mr. Gomes also represents VeriSign in the gTLD Registries Stakeholder Group (RySG), represents the RySG on the Generic Name Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council and currently serves as Chair of the GNSO Council.
